Ishari Amarasinghe is a PhD candidate in Interactive Technologies Group in the Department of Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) , Barcelona. She received her masters in Intelligent interactive Systems from UPF. Her Master thesis work was related to “Intelligent Group Formation in CSCL Scripts” which has sparked her interest in Interdisciplinary research. Prior to Masters she received her BSc in Information and Communication Technologies (First Class) from University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka.

Future emerging technologies will provide both interactivity and intelligence. The master's programm in Intelligent Interactive Systems, in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona) addresses both of these trends, focusing on the design, analysis, and development of agents and robots that can interact intelligently with humans and other agents; agents that can perceive, plan, act, learn, and communicate.
Throughout my PhD I'm interested in supporting both educators and students during collaborative learning activities using cutting edge machine learning and AI techniques. I'm interested in researching how intelligence inherited from Machine Learning Techniques, Predication algorithms etc.. to dynamically manage / orchestrate collaborative learning activities via predicting good design parameters for educators and embedding software agents to collaborative systems to manage and enhance learner enactment.
Apart from being a researcher, I enjoy my time voulanteering for worthy course. I have voulanteered in several conferences playing different roles while helping the organizing comitties in different ways. Some of recent conferences I voulanteered include:
